The UDID of your iPad or iPhone needs to be registered to allow installation of our apps. This is because our app is a private app and not published through the Apple App Store.
Once submitted to apple, this can take up to 72 hours for them to register your UDID to our developer account before we can then build an app which will install on your device, so please try to provide us the UDID as soon as possible so that we can have the app ready for you to use when needed.
You will require a Windows computer and iTunes to get the UDID from your device.
To discover the UDID of your iOS device, please install the latest version of iTunes, either from the Microsoft Store, or the standalone version available from the apple website. Note that Apple music will not work, it must be iTunes.
Once installed, open iTunes and connect your device. Follow any on screen prompts to install any drivers. It is not necessary to sign in to an apple account.
From the iTunes homescreen, click the device icon in the top bar menu which represents your iPad or iPhone.
Your device information is shown, including the Serial Number. To view the UDID, click the serial number and you will see it change to the UDID.
Right click the UDID and select Copy.
Once you have the UDID, please click the Contact Support button at the top of this page and request that your UDID be added to the system to allow the installation of apps. Fill out the required fields, and request that your UDID is added to the system. Please make sure you include the following:
- Name
- Email Address or Phone number
- The council or customer that you are representing.
- Which app you want to be able to install
You can also email the UDID to support@kaarbontech.co.uk, including the same info.
Once received, we will submit your UDID to Apple to add to our Developer account. This will register your device as a user of our apps and permit our app to install on your device. This can take 72 hours for apple to process.
As soon as we receive notification from apple that your device has been registered to our apps, we will then build a new app that includes your device as an allowed device and let you know that the app is ready, and provide you with a download link.
